Siluri 4mg Capsule is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

How to use Siluri Capsule
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Siluri 4mg Capsule is to be taken with food.Avoid Siluri 4mg Capsule with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

How Siluri Capsule works
Siluri 4mg Capsule is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.

Siluri helps in relieving the symptoms of enlarged prostate. It doesn't decrease the size of the prostate. Siluri must be taken with food. You will feel better within hours or days of starting treatment. Full effect is usually seen within 2 weeks. Siluri may cause you to feel dizzy, faint, lightheaded, or weak, especially when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Take special precaution if you have to drive, use machines or do any activity that needs alertness. If your undergoing eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma, inform your eye doctor about the usage of Siluri. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.

Q. Is Siluri better than Tamsulosin?
Siluri and Tamsulosin belong to the same class of drugs and are equally good in relieving the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, Tamsulosin commonly causes postural hypotension and dose reduction is not needed in renal disease patients whereas Siluri more commonly causes retrograde ejaculation and its dose may need to be decreased in patients with renal disease.
